Specialist GDC ORE Part 2 preparation at The Yardley Clinic, Birmingham. Real private clinic environment, GDC-registered trainers, live patient shadowing and small group sizes. Just approx. 1h 45min from Bradford.
Bradford has one of the UK's most diverse communities and a large number of internationally-qualified dentists — many of South Asian heritage — pursuing GDC registration. Our small group sizes and experienced trainers are particularly well-regarded within Bradford's dental professional networks.
Our clinic in Birmingham is a working private dental practice — not a university simulation suite or a rented lecture hall. You train on dental mannequins in a real surgery, then observe and assist in live patient procedures. This clinical authenticity is what separates our training from courses that are purely theory-based.
Every candidate leaves each session with a written performance report from their trainer — covering strengths, areas for improvement and a personalised study plan. This structured feedback is invaluable for candidates who have a firm exam date in mind.
Our programme is built around the actual GDC examination format. Every module is practised on dental mannequins and then observed live in our private surgeries with real patients.
Extra-oral and intra-oral examination, lymph node assessment, TMJ, soft tissue screening and charting to UK standards. Practised on mannequins and observed on real patients.
Complex case treatment planning — prioritising care, risk assessment, evidence-based decisions and presenting options to patients in a UK-appropriate manner.
Cavity preparation and composite/amalgam placement on typodont teeth, shade selection, matrix systems, finishing and polishing — with live procedure observation.
IANB, buccal infiltration, palatal injection and mental nerve block. Aspiration, cartridge loading, post-injection protocol and management of adverse reactions.
UK radiation regulations (IR(ME)R & IRR17), periapical and bitewing interpretation, CBCT awareness, film mounting and timed radiographic interpretation exercises.
Anaphylaxis, syncope, angina, asthma, hypoglycaemia and epilepsy in the dental setting. Drug protocols, emergency kit contents and CPR refresher.
BPE, periodontal charting, probing technique, furcation assessment, classification and treatment planning for mild, moderate and severe periodontitis.
UK consent law (Montgomery ruling), explaining treatment options clearly, managing anxious patients, clinical note-writing standards and professional communication.
HTM 01-05, instrument decontamination cycles, cross-infection control, PPE protocols and CQC standards as they apply to the GDC examination framework.
Every procedure is practised on mannequins first, then observed live in our surgeries with real patients.
"The mannequin sessions were excellent — proper instruments, real composite materials, and feedback from someone who actually knows what the examiners want. I passed my ORE Part 2 on the first attempt."
"I'd already sat the ORE once and felt unprepared. After the 3-day Comprehensive programme here, I understood exactly what was expected at each station. The written feedback after each day was invaluable."
"What sets The Yardley Clinic apart is that you're training in a real private practice. Watching live patient procedures — with proper consent protocols, real clinical decisions being made — is something you simply cannot get from a university mock-up."
The Yardley Clinic is in Yardley, Birmingham — 105 miles from Bradford. The journey by train takes approx. 1h 45min via Bradford Forster Square → Birmingham New Street. Many candidates from Bradford complete our training as a day trip without needing to stay overnight.
Our programme covers all nine core OSCE station types: clinical examination, treatment planning, restorative dentistry, local anaesthesia technique, radiography & interpretation, medical emergencies, periodontal assessment, patient communication & consent, and infection control. Every topic is practised on dental mannequins and then observed live in our private surgeries.
